Our most popular September event is Outdoor School. This unique supervised sleepover outdoor adventure, the highlight of the school year for students in 5th-8th grades, offers a learning environment unlike any other. Students step out of their regular classroom setting and into the world God has created. They become personally unplugged and positively engaged in learning (STEM, biology, chemistry) within an unstructured outdoor setting. In addition, the students hone their life skills for creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and team-building.
There is significant research to support the benefits of outdoor education: Increased achievement and comprehension (self-advocacy skills and application of lessons) Improved test scores (math and science)
Motivation to learn and engagement improves (confidence/desire to be a better student)Supports systems thinking (The world God created for us)
