We have been so blessed to celebrate Thanksgiving this time of year. Some of us are planning to enjoy the festivities of Black Friday and many of us are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Cyber Monday in anticipation of all the wonderful bargains we can delight in. Everyone enjoys a good bargain every now and then!
Please remember our school on Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This day is the global day of giving where we can all focus together on making a difference in the future of a student enrolled in our school. Your simple gift can make a difference in a changed life. Our school is not only about academic preparation for a life of worthy work but one of spiritual preparation for a lifelong walk with Jesus Christ and our destination of heaven.
At LCAS, students LEARN how to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior.
We CREATE systems and processes to support learning in an environment that nurtures the learner in mind, body, heart, and spirit.
Our students ACHIEVE through highly skilled instructors' scientifically developed creation-based curriculum that fosters critical thinking and adhering to industry standards.
Finally, LCAS trains students to SERVE through extracurriculars and enrichment activities with intentional engagement within the community.
LCAS, the only Protestant Christian school in Chehalis, Washington, opened its doors in 1922 in downtown Centralia, Washington. In 1952, LCAS moved to its current location on Scheuber Road. In 2012, the current building was completed and school resumed in the new facility. At Lewis County Adventist School, our 100+ year history is rich with educational outcomes. We work to provide a safe, close-knit, inclusive learning environment for our students.
Every six years, LCAS is evaluated by members of national accreditation teams that hold our school’s nationally recognized curriculum to the highest standards of excellence. The state of Washington also accredits our school. Accreditation is an external, objective evaluation of school quality and student achievement. It ensures that our school meets high-quality standards in many areas, including instruction, curriculum, student achievement, leadership, safety, technology, and community outreach. Along with many commendations, the team gave us several constructive recommendations to implement as we continue to grow and improve.
Our teachers are highly trained and certified by state educational departments and our governing Washington Office of Education. Our teachers are credentialed in various educational levels— early childhood, special education, elementary education, science, Bible, and English- and trained in Love and Logic, Envoy, and Differentiated Instruction. Their levels of experience, professionalism, and continuing education allow for each of the students in their classrooms to have the most current learning strategies to enable them to be advanced, highly academic, Christ-like learners in an ever-changing world. We have this level of training to meet the unique needs and maximize each child’s learning potential through differentiated instruction.

Our students develop strong leadership qualities just like David and Esther from Bible times though the use of study tours, community service, technology, and daily devotional time and learning, straight from the Bible’s written recordings of history and events. (Daniel and Esther were some of the most well-educated people in the Bible). We intentionally integrate an active service leadership program and technology in teaching life skills necessary for today’s world.
Our students are always given opportunities to develop their forethought by using deductive reasoning, analogical thinking skills, and problem-solving strategies to allow them to become not only tomorrow’s, but today’s leaders.
A life skill is a necessary or desirable ability to enjoy full participation in everyday life. Some important skills that our students learn are as follows:
