We love parents that make a difference at our school by volunteering their talents and time! Home and School (HandS) is a partnership support group between students, teachers, and parents. In other school environments, it is sometimes called the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
The number one reason to join the HandS team is to benefit your child. Of course, in doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more advantages:
- Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
- Tap into a Network. HandS functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport, and discussing issues that are important to you. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
- Watch Yourself Grow. Volunteering at the school or from home puts your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause - your child and all children in the community.
- Speak Up. Your partnership can be a way for you to suggest change more effectively at your child’s school.
- Witness Improvement. You’ll be part of the solution by getting involved at your child’s school, helping make positive changes. Our HandS team plays a vital role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and plays an important role in fundraising for curriculum-based and after-school programs and social/family events.
- Be a Role Model. By becoming a HandS member, you’ll demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education.
